Why do we need artists?

First of all, we don’t need artists to live. Why should we? We have our everyday problems and today’s artists only create more problems. Isn’t that the case? Let’s take art exhibited in the biggest contemporary galleries.The messages of their paintings are increasingly difficult to accept. They tell us that money is not important or show us landscapes that do not resemble them. Should we trust the artists? They tell us they are trustworthy. But why the hell are they painting a picture full of curves and lines and a few splashes of color and telling us that this is the view from the window? What is more, in contemporary art, we search in vain for beauty. Art no longer reassures us and shows us no direction. Artists paint abstract lines and curves and that makes us nervous and irritated.
So should we trust artists?
Of course, we should.
First of all, abstract doesn’t mean painting something, but the effect it creates. Thanks to art we are given clues as to how we should view certain emotions as particularly significant for us, for our society or for the problems of our time.
And what about money? If artists question the value of money, it is maybe because they want to show that we are perhaps too preoccupied with it instead of dealing with the emotions that are crucial for a more civilized society. In this way, everyone can direct their emotions and find their purpose.
