The
vintage pantalets have been on my mind for some time and I wondered
where to get them from. I was thinking of making a copy myself by sewing
from the scratch or even turning, by crafty alterations, something
existent and similar into looking more original,
but obviously it would be ideal to get hold of the genuine ones,
‘remembering’ the old times.
Well,
as it is often the case, a very lucky coincidence helped and indeed
I've got them now. We went on a cycling trip to a German beautiful
region of the Lower Lusatia, Spreewald and there, in an antique shop in a
small town Burg I found exactly what I was looking
for. Why would I need the old-fashioned pantalets? I will of course
wear them!
Rephrasing
the title of a Bond movie, ‘the fashion is not enough’, for me, fashion
is not exclusively a class, elegance and chic, which I love, but
equally with fun and uniqueness. And so today, a jolly and playful
theme.
Styling:
maybe a little .. unconventional? A rather loose dress made of linen,
with the 19th, or possibly even 18th century pantalets underneath,
almost an ancient equivalent to the nowadays leggings. To keep up with
the character, I wear ‘heavy’ style, lace-up ankle
boots, quite like the Victorian ones.
In
place of a handbag, an orange rucksack. Not so much in a way of
accessories: a sequin collar and a hat. Oh, and the earrings, my very
own design.
