Kilka lat temu, na moim blogu pisałam o egipskiej herbacie (post można znaleźć TUTAJ), tym razem chciałabym opisać trochę głębiej ideę picia herbaty w Egipcie. Oczywiście można spotkać wiele rodzajów herbat. Jednak należy pamiętać, iż słowem herbata, określana jest tylko herbata czarna.
W Egipcie najpopularniejsza jest herbata zwana "Aroosa" - panna młoda. Jest tania i dobra w smaku. Czemu taka nazwa, niestety nie udało mi się dojść do źródła tak pięknej nazwy. Czarna herbata jest ważnym elementem dnia. Najczęściej jest spożywana po posiłkach, bardzo rzadko przed posiłkami. Musi być gorąca, nie letnia ani zimna, inaczej ląduje w zlewie. Mocna, w małej szklance, z całkiem sporą ilością cukru jest celebrowana jak coś niezwykle ważnego. Nierzadko się słyszy: To co idziemy napić się herbaty? o ile jest taka możliwość pracownicy siadają razem i piją herbatę. Łyczek po łyczku, delektując się jej mocnym i słodkim smakiem. W domach serwowana jest na srebrnej tacy, w małych szklankach, nigdy w dzbanku. Każdy dostaje swoją porcję. Natomiast w restauracjach jest podawana w pięknych dzbaneczkach. Nie pije się herbaty, ot tak, jak na przykład ja mam to w zwyczaju. Często, w pracy, zdarza mi się pić herbatę letnią, albo zimną, jako zwykły napój, bo nawadniać się trzeba. I tyle! Najlepiej nie gorącą, abym nie musiała spędzać zbyt dużo czasu aby wypić cały kubek. Nie tak jest w Egipcie. Na czas z herbatą trzeba mieć czas!
Muszę przyznać, iż podoba mi się ten zwyczaj celebrowania picia herbaty, gdyż jest bliski memu sercu. U mnie w rodzinnym domu też mamy taki czas, gdzie cała rodzina się spotyka na chwilę z herbatą czy kawą. Codziennie! Jest to bardzo ważne, aby odetchnąć i spędzić tę chwilę z bliskimi. Żyjemy w świecie braku czasu i pędu! Każdy ma swoje obowiązki i pracę, dlatego tak ważne jest aby usiąść z bliskim i delektować się chwilą wytchnienia z filiżanką herbaty.

A few years ago, I wrote about Egyptian tea on my blog (the post can be found HERE), this time I would like to describe the idea of drinking tea in Egypt a little deeper. Of course, there are many types of teas. However, please remember that the word tea only refers to black tea.
In Egypt, the most popular tea is called "Aroosa" - bride. It is cheap and tastes good. Why such a name? Unfortunately, I was unable to find the source of such a beautiful name. Black tea is an important part of the day. It is most often consumed after meals, very rarely before meals. It has to be hot, not lukewarm or cold, otherwise it ends up in the sink. Strong, in a small glass, with quite a lot of sugar, it is celebrated as something extremely important. It's not uncommon to hear: So, are we going to drink tea? If possible, employees sit together and drink tea. Sip by sip, enjoying its strong and sweet taste. At home it is served on a silver tray, in small glasses, never in a jug. Everyone gets their share. However, in restaurants it is served in beautiful jugs. You don't drink tea just like I usually do. Often, at work, I drink lukewarm tea or cold tea as a regular drink, because I need to stay hydrated. And that's it! Preferably not hot, so that I don't have to spend too much time drinking the whole cup. This is not the case in Egypt. You have to have time for tea time!
I must admit that I like this custom of celebrating tea drinking because it is close to my heart. In my family home we also have such a time when the whole family meets for a moment with tea or coffee. Every day! It is very important to take a breath and spend this moment with your loved ones. We live in a world of lack of time and momentum! Everyone has their own responsibilities and work, which is why it is so important to sit down with your loved ones and enjoy a moment of respite with a cup of tea.
